Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator

Overview: The activities and goals noted below represent the service the Community Outreach Coordinator will be providing at the placement site Keney Park Sustainability Project (placement site). This is an AmeriCorps position and as such, the member may not engage in prohibited activities as part of his/her/their service. An AmeriCorps Member is providing national service and is not considered an employee of either LISC or the placement site. AmeriCorps members are responsible for performing the activities outlined below, and work towards achieving the goals outlined.

Supervision: The Community Outreach Coordinator will report to the Executive Director of Keney Park Sustainability, and will work in partnership with Keney Park Sustainability.


  • May or may not include administrative duties related to the below goals/activities, or newly assigned activities that are allowable and not prohibited by AmeriCorps, maybe assigned by the placement site.
  • Serve as liaison for stakeholders and interview community residents to tell a story: Contact previous
  • existing and potential partners to assess the site’s impact or lack thereof, in addition to charting the data
  • collected from the communications.
  • Research history, assets, issues, barriers, resources, and community building:
  • Create an asset map identifying partners, resources, barriers and opportunities.
  • Document impact through storytelling and write other documentation (social media, communications):
  • Create a visual presentation that captures the above-mentioned asset mapping and the results from data collection.
  • Help facilitate a series of community gatherings to capture
  • community input to ensure the community is part of the development of the UEWC.


  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of safety and risk management in event planning.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Enthusiasm for creating positive and engaging experiences for participants.

Pay rate: $13,500


 for 900 hours
