Overview: Keney Park Sustainability is seeking a dedicated and skilled Food Processor to join our team. The Food Processor will play a crucial role in our organization’s mission by contributing to the preparation and processing of nutritious meals for distribution to individuals and families facing food insecurity. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that makes a real difference in the lives of others.
Supervision: The Food Processor will report to the Executive Director of Keney Park Sustainability, and will work in partnership with a second Hartford Public Schools’ Food and Nutrition Program.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare a variety of food items following established procedures and guidelines.
- Operate and maintain food processing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure the quality and freshness of all food products.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Assist in inventory management, including monitoring and reporting on stock levels.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food processing or a related role is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and work collaboratively in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
- Passion for making a positive impact on the community.
Pay rate: $20/hr. for 20 hours per week
